Hi there,

Announcement Of The Week:

We did an optimization session live on LinkedIn and YouTube a couple of weeks ago regarding optimizing data segments and the best practices to do so efficiently.

You can catch the Replay here or download the Cheat Sheet Guide here, where in I summarized it in 10 easy steps (perfect to pin on your desktop for easy access during your optimization sessions)

In This Week’s Episode of the Programmatic Digest podcast

We welcome Brandon Pollard from KRTX.IO to discuss 3 Tips for Job Seekers On Getting Started In Programmatic!

Book Review

I want to share 3 things I learned from Limitless: Upgrade Your Brain, Learn Anything Faster, and Unlock Your Exceptional Life by Jim Kwik.

Learning isn’t easy. Whether you are an adult or have a child learning in school, it isn’t as easy to understand and retain your learnings. Jim Kwik walks us through why most of us read and don’t remember what we’ve seen or read after a day.

Here are my takeaways:

Using the power of music, smell, and the Pomodoro technique can lead to studying more efficiently and, most importantly, retaining the information.

You can boost your memory with visualization. Yes, yes, that is true! Think about it: this is why a face is more easily remembered than a name (I know I am not alone here when we feel like, “Oh gosh, I know this person, but I cannot remember their name.”)

We spend time working out and moving our bodies almost daily; how are you doing the same for your brain? You can read daily to do so! Read more and become more successful!

Here are my favorite quotes:

“Don’t take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from.”

“Perfectionism reduces creativity and innovation,” writes Hara Estroff Marano, editor at large and the former editor in chief of Psychology Today. “It is a steady source of negative emotions; rather than reaching toward something positive, those in its grip are focused on the very thing they most want to avoid—negative evaluation. Perfectionism, then, is an endless report card; it keeps people completely self-absorbed, engaged in perpetual self-evaluation—reaping relentless frustration and doomed to anxiety and depression.”

“Give a person an idea, and you enrich their day. Teach a person how to learn, and they can enrich their entire life.”

“If you’re struggling to find motivation to learn, or to accomplish anything else in your life, there is a good chance you haven’t uncovered the why of the task.”

“Reasons that are tied to your purpose, identity, and values will sufficiently motivate you to act, even in the face of all of the daily obstacles that life puts in your way.”

“Before each reading, take a few minutes to talk about or write what you remember from the previous reading.”

“The purpose supersedes the discomfort.”

Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of  Limitless: Upgrade Your Brain, Learn Anything Faster, and Unlock Your Exceptional Life
by Jim Kwik. I also can recommend the audio version as it is read by the author and has some bonus gems at the end of each chapter that the book (which I also read) doesn’t have.

Cheers to leveling up!
